Mauro 'Cico' Peruzzi
Italian b-boy Mauro Peruzzi aka CICO is one of the most famous and powerful breakdancers on the planet with YouTube video views running into the millions.
He is recognized by his peers as one of the best powermove b-boys in the world, most known for his energetic air flare combinations and incredible 1990s (vertical spins on one hand). He holds the official world record with a recorded 27 revolutions.
CICO was born in Heidelberg, Germany in 1984, moving back and forth between Germany and Italy until 2002 where he settled in Venice. CICO started breaking in 1995, after he saw b-boys dancing in the streets in Germany.
In 2001, CICO suffered a major setback when he dislocated his kneecap and ruptured his ligaments twice! Then the following year, during the International Battle of the Year in which he was competing in front of nearly 10,000 people, the same agonising accident happened again to the same knee live on stage.
His phobia of injury nearly forced him to quit breaking but instead he began to approach his training in a much more diligent and calculated manner until his confidence to push the limits returned.
As a professional dancer he has been involved in numerous events and has won major titles and battles all over the world. He is an active member of the international group, Spinkings, and has taken part at the prestigious Red Bull BC One three times; in 2005, 2007 and 2008.
